Sports Beat Expands its Licensing Strategy
DEER PARK COMPANY Signs License for Bowflex® and Nautilus® Brand Heart Rate Monitors
Sports Beat Inc., a Deer Park, NY-based manufacturer of heart rate monitors and pedometers, has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Nautilus, Inc., to manufacture and distribute 12 variations of combination wrist watch-heart rate monitor-pedometers under the Bowflex®, Nautilus® and Universal® brand names.
Lou Dionisio, President of Sports Beat, commented -“This is one of the most exciting developments in our 14 year history. The strength of the Nautilus, Inc. brands will enable us to bring our heart rate technology to a broader consumer base in a simplified, easy to use and understand application.” Dionisio plans to sell these units through sporting goods, health clubs, specialty stores and internet retailers.
Sports Beat will launch all three brands during the 2009 season. The Bowflex line will launch 12 models in Q1 2009 with a unique line of wireless and strapless heart rate monitors and pedometers. A model named The Hybrid will be the first on the consumer market capable of measuring heart rate with or without a chest transmitter.
