Sports Beat Exclusive Distributor for Heart Rate Monitors for Dummies

And the (Sports)BEAT Goes On…

Deer Park, N.Y. - June 30, 2007 - Sports Beat, the 3rd largest manufacturer and distributor in the heart rate monitor industry, has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to bring to market 5 styles of wristwatch heart rate monitors under the "For Dummies" brand.

Dummies Heart Rate Monitors
The same brand that has removed intimidation from computers and the Internet will remove intimidation from heart rate monitors and get people exercising in their healthy heart zones.
This is the same "For Dummies" brand that has helped countless beginners learn complex tasks especially with computers and the Internet. And now that same brand will help people to get and stay fit.

The "For Dummies" line is geared to the casual fitness enthusiast. None of the monitors requires a chest strap. The user merely touches 2 contact points on a watch case and their heart rate appears within seconds.

Lou Dionisio, president of Sports Beat said the reading is "As accurate as your doctor's electrocardiograms and more advanced than any gym equipment".

Each monitor will include a "Heart Rate Monitor for Dummies" instruction guide explaining how the product can help users lose weight, improve health and increase fitness. A chart on the back of the package helps them locate their target heart rates.
The line is expected to appear in stores by mid-September 2007. MSRP will range from $59.95 to $89.95.

The partnership with "For Dummies" will allow Sports Beat to now extend its products beyond the sporting goods market where it has traditionally ventured.

It is an ideal product for health clubs, gyms, fitness studios, and even general retailers. Sports Beat plans to sell them in drugstores, houseware stores, and possibly bookstores with an attached "For Dummies" expanded instruction guide.

"For Dummies" is a branded imprint of John Wiley & Sons Publishers.
